Cortex 2 Grid-enabled Pattern Matching Engine
The Welsh e-Science Centre (WeSC)'s Cortex 2 Grid-enabled
Pattern Matching Engine supports the research and development needs
of e-Scientists / e-Researchers within a Grid-centric ICT infrastructure.
This R&D scale facility, the first of its kind anywhere in the
World, is intended for research into techniques for managing and
pattern-matching large datasets in a Grid centric world.
Cortex 2 is a pattern matching system based around
2 SUN FIRE V880 servers incorporating AURA hardware-accelerated
pattern matching technology from Cybula
Ltd. Hardware accelerated pattern matching for multiple data
types is based on the use of a Correlation Matrix Memory (CMM) and
carefully selected neural network techniques that permit searches
to be undertaken on complex graphs, unstructured texts and signals.
This facility is closely associated with the WeSC
Grid-Enabled Data Store.
Anyone wishing to use the Pattern Matching Enginee
should contact manager@wesc.ac.uk
in the first instance.
