Grid Computing

The Welsh e-Science Centre can provide access to UK e-Science users to the following resources:

Cybula High Performance Pattern Recognition System
Data store for large and complex data combined with Presence 2 FPGA / DSP cards running the AURA high performance pattern matching system
Globus 2.4 computational resources
4 x 8 processor SGI Origin 300 machines running Globus 2 and Condor. Users of the National Grid Service can access this resource without needing to apply to WeSC directly.
Globus 3.2 computational resources
4 processor HP Itanium machine running Globus 3.2
Multicast-enabled Linux machine
A Linux PC running various services, access is provided to users wishing to run multicast experiments
Nimrod portal
Portal to distribute parametric simulations over a grid
safleprofi
General use Linux machine (Cardiff School of Computer Science users only)
UDDI registry
UDDI registry for publishing and discovering web services
Web Service cluster
Cluster of Linux machines running Tomcat for permanent web service deployment (Cardiff School of Computer Science users only)
