Objectives
The broad objective of the proposed research is
to use and develop Grid technology as an enabler of large-scale
and globally-distributed scientific and engineering research. This
will be accomplished through the following specific objectives:
-
establish
and use a computational Grid between geographically distributed
partners to enable different and complementary computational
electromagnetics (CEM) analyses.
-
explore
means of securely sharing code and simulation capability by
investigating so-called ‘black widow’ applications.
-
devise and promote means of grid-enabling legacy simulation
components (codes and ancillary software).generate generic capability/deliverables
including: grid-enabled mesh generators, mesh/visualisation
framework, visualisation software and a paradigm for migrating
black-widow applications.
-
use resource scheduling over widely disparate nodes with different
bandwidth constraints.
-
devise an interface, or accommodate exiting interfaces for GECEM,
and
-
explore
the use of the Grid as a vehicle for ‘work share’
analyses within an extended computational enterprise.
