DIPSO
is a proof-of-concept demonstrator to grid-enable and link,
two stand-alone software packages (the Modeller and the Optimiser)
for modelling and solving complex multi-variate problems in,
for example, engineering design or financial services. Integration
is achieved through the use of Web Service Definition Language
(WSDL) and a Globus-enabled Problem Solving Environment (PSE).
The PSE allows annotation and sharing of results.
